Something a little different for you this week – though every bit as inspirational – a vintage interview with Edith Head, the Hollywood costume maven who won many Academy Awards for her stunning work.

She shows screen tests of Audrey Hepburn for Roman Holiday – which in themselves are bewitching.

Plus there’s snippets from the film (and that’s always a winner). And on top of that, there’s a very regal and formal interview style. All very interesting.

Grab a coffee, pull up a chair and relax into the golden age of Hollywood for a few minutes. Film, in all it’s glory, is close to my heart and this is a lovely slice of history.

Edith Head was nominated for costume Oscars no less than 35 times and won a whopping 8 times. Much of what we think of as the big Hollywood look was by, or influenced by, her amazing skill.

After watching Ms Hepburn give a few twirls in that ball gown, I defy you not to move a little more graciously afterwards.
